Miffy, Moomin & Friends
ABOUT MIFFY & FRIENDS:
Created in 1955, Dick Bruna... on a rainy seaside holiday, Bruna entertained his young son by sketching a little bunny in the garden. Each night he made up stories about the bunny & soon the bunny had a name – Miffy.
Since "nijntje" is difficult to pronounce for non-Dutch speakers and because there are so many different words for "bunny" in other languages, Dick Bruna's little bunny is simply known as Miffy. The name doesn't have any special meaning, but it is easy to pronounce in all languages.
Today Miffy is adored by all ages around the world and she has seen a resurgence of love and is trending here in the United States!
ABOUT MOOMIN & FRIENDS :
During the Winter War of 1939, Finland author, Tove Jansson felt the world had lost its color and set out to write a story that ended happily. This resulted in her first book, The Moomins and the Great Flood (published in Swedish in 1945). The characters were born out of a satirical cartoon Jansson drew earlier, where she used a shadowy, long-nosed troll as a graffiti signature.
The iconic Moominvalley features an eclectic mix of hippo looking, trolls creatures who celebrate friendship, community, and the simple joys of life,
