Mini Rodini x Wrangler at Design Life Kids

The Legends Behind The Collab

Mini Rodini is a Swedish children’s wear brand that was founded in 2006 by illustrator Cassandra Rhodin as a tribute to all children, their imagination and sense that everything is possible. The brand takes children seriously with playfulness, meaning it is important that children have clothes that match their personality, mood and creativity. Not to mention, we’re obsessed with all of their hand illustrated prints!

Wrangler has been an icon in authentic American style for 75 years. Wrangler is enduring American freedom. It’s in the spirit of people who work hard, have fun, and recognize courageous individuality. They believe in solid commitments and perseverance in the face of obstacles and challenges. With a rich legacy rooted in the Western lifestyle, Wrangler is committed to offering superior quality and timeless design. Its collections for men, women, and children look and feel great, inspiring all those who wear them to be strong and ready for everyday life.

Together, they teamed up to create a capsule collection of stylish, long-lasting apparel for kids. Mini Rodini X Wrangler limited-edition designs include flared and straight jeans, windbreakers, jersey garments and denim jackets, vests and underwear featuring Wrangler’s iconic “W” stitching made of organic cotton. All pieces throughout the collection also showcase Mini Rodini’s Peace Dove, which was first created by Rhodin in 2008. The collection brings Wrangler’s timeless Americana roots and ties in Mini Rodini’s unique illustrations and designs.

Design Life Kids is proud to be a part of this upcoming collection:

MINI RODINI X WRANGLER

Coming August 2nd… Mini Rodini’s Autumn Winter 2023 collaboration with Wrangler emphasizes simplicity, quality, and freedom. Cassandra shared that she “definitely wanted to use the classic silhouettes of Wrangler, especially the 11 mw jacket that John Lennon wore with the ‘People for peace’ patch. And now, because of this collab, kids can wear it with a Mini Rodini peace dove patch! Jeans are such a versatile product. All kids should wear jeans, but real ones that last for at least all siblings and the cousins too! Jeans protect wild kids from all sorts of challenges in life.”

The Story Of The Infamous Man Behind The Peace Patch

John Lennon – Founder, co-songwriter, co-lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist of the Beatles. Solo recording artist, author, graphic artist, and peace activist.

While we all know him for his role in the Beatles, #JohnLennon was quite the peace activist. Most artists were more concerned with cultivating their celebrity status and advancing party politics than promoting peace. Appreciation for him deepened as he decided to use his celebrity status as a pulpit for causes greater than his own enrichment or self-aggrandizement. Paramount among the multiple causes to which Lennon was devoted was his almost single-minded commitment to the anti-war movement, which moved to the forefront in the wake of his 1969 marriage to avant-garde artist Yoko Ono. The Lennons used their honeymoon at the Amsterdam Hilton in March 1969 as a launch pad for their anti-war efforts. Crazy right?!... Inviting the worldwide media to join them in their hotel suite, where they sat in bed for two weeks straight, from nine in the morning to nine at night, engaging in discussions about world peace. A second Bed-In followed three months later in Montreal, where Lennon wrote and recorded what was to become the unofficial refrain of the peace movement — “Give Peace a Chance.” By October 1969, “Give Peace a Chance” had become a universal chant at anti-war Vietnam demonstrations. About a month later, legendary folk singer Pete Seeger led nearly half a million demonstrators at a peace rally in Washington D.C. in singing the song. Lennon stated it was one of the biggest moments in his life.

DLK has reflected on the importance of this movement in history and the continued need for peace today. Our team strives to create a safe space for each other and everyone around us through our words, actions, the partners and brands we work with, and the collections we curate. The Mini Rodini X Wrangler collection, inspired by Lennon’s “People for Peace” with the feature of the dove patch, symbolizes peace, freedom, and love, which are values held close to us.
